The 30 Best House Tracks of the 90s

90s house music

Despite the deeply shady business dealings, Dreamland remains one of the most iconic albums of the ’90s, even for non-house heads. This 1997 album is a masterpiece of audio collage, pulling in samples from jazz, gospel, funk and disco and threading them together into a hazy, hour-long dream sequence. Kenny Dixon Jr.—who, alongside artists like Theo Parrish and Marcellus Pittman, helped define the endearingly unpolished sound of deep house in Detroit. The album is a collection of previously released tracks from Dixon's own KDJ Records, which were then re-edited and re-issued as a long-player for Planet E Communications, the label owned by Detroit house and techno hero Carl Craig. Carl Craig's Landcruising from 1995 was certainly influential enough to be included on a best ’90s electronic albums list, though traditionalists would say it veers too far into techno territory to count on this one in particular.

New Edition – If It Isn’t Love

There are plenty of early ’90s tracks that mixed house and rave to great effect, but perhaps none more so than this impossibly energetic stomper. The manic piano stabs, rushing rhythm and commanding vocals provide a soundtrack for burning more calories than any exercise video ever did. From New Wave dance and Hi NRG to classic House music in the 90s, the genre’s influence has permeated every dance floor. This smashing 1999 release put iconic DJ and Producer Paul Johnson on the global radar. "Get Get Down" is one of those tracks that everyone has heard at least once.

It’s been a DJ favourite ever since (for everyone from Ellen Allien to Julio Bashmore) thanks to its pulsing bleeps and plaintive vocal vibes. From 1994 until the turn of the millennium, Gemini, aka Spencer Kincy, was one of the most revered figures in the second wave of Chicago house. A decade ago, when a reporter tracked him down, he was homeless and apparently struggling with mental illness, even as a fresh crop of reissues, edits, and bootlegs was boosting his popularity among a new generation of clubbers and DJs. Read Pitchfork’s list of the best songs of the 1990s here and best albums of the 1990s here, and check out our full ’90s package here. African music continued to become a power player in the worldwide ecosystem in the 1990s, with superstars like Ali Farka Toure working with legendary American polymath Ry Cooder.

Daft Punk, Homework

First Floor saw the Chicago-born, Detroit-based producer re-writing all the rules with his unkempt and unfussy approach to deep, soulful house. Much like Moodymann, Parrish weaves a vibrant tapestry of gospel and soul sound bytes—though his stuttering loops, damaged samples, and general lack of respect for musical conventions set him apart from the rest of the pack. His famously adventurous DJ sets—which extend up to eight hours—touch on a broad range of genres across four or five decades, and have given him a reputation as one of the great record diggers of our time. Danny Tenaglia never enjoyed the pop success of contemporaries like Armand Van Helden or Deee-lite, but to this day he remains one of the seminal figures in New York house music. The prolific DJ and producer began his career in Brooklyn, DJing at roller discos in the late ’70s and early ’80s and later became a resident at legendary downtown dance spots like Twilo, Tunnel, and Vinyl. You can still catch Tenaglia playing all-night sets at spots like Output in Brooklyn or Space in Ibiza.

Janet Jackson – That’s The Way Love Goes

Mr. Fingers is Larry Heard, a totemic figure in the history of Chicago house music. ”—produced alongside Robert Owens and Robert Wilson as Fingers Inc.—endures today as one of the genre's most iconic tracks, and has been remixed and reworked by countless producers who came after. Throughout various interviews, Heard has characterized himself as an instrumentalist who prefers the more organic songwriting process to computer-based composition, and his 1992 album testifies to that. While much of it is built on top of drum machines and synths, it often sounds more like fully formed R&B or soul than the stripped-back club tracks many of his contemporaries were producing at the time. The double platinum-selling debut album from the Italian group Black Box played a huge role in bringing house music to pop radio the world over. To add insult to injury, the group then hired a tall, skinny model to lip-sync in the music video for their album's second single—rather than giving camera time to the more heavy-set Wash.

‘Argus’: Wishbone Ash’s Hard Rocking Masterpiece

The Shep Pettibone remix of “Rhythm Nation” by Janet Jackson, or Shep’s House Mix of “Miss You Much” are a testament to the talent of these pioneers. Spanning from 1988 to 1991, the Ultimate 90’s House Music Classics series encapsulates this genre’s underground roots before its mainstream success. The 90s House music classics like “Finally,” by CeCe Peniston “Show Me Love,” by Robin S and “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless)” by Crystal Waters owe their existence to the humble beginnings in Chicago, spreading to New York and then globally. The music doesn’t begin so much as surface, as if “Around the World” arises from some great depth, that lowpass filter cutting out the high-end without obscuring the “fundamental” signal.

But nothing better exemplifies ’90s dance music than house, whose pumping groove supplies the heartbeat of club culture. Those springy piano chords, those kaleidoscopic synth stabs, those driving beats… They just always sound great. Detroit’s Derrick May (working under the name Strings of Life here) might be a techno pioneer, but he arrived there by feeding Chicago house through a futuristic, funky shredder, epitomised by this timeless track.

90s house music

Angelique Kidjo, meanwhile, became a sensation in her home country in Benin and around the world thanks to her thrilling blend of Afropop with R&B and soul music. Elsewhere, Baaba Maal brought Senegalese folk music to a wide, adoring audience. To those who regard electronic music as being devoid of emotion, we give you this staggering 1986 masterpiece from the saintly Larry Heard (under his Mr Fingers alias).

The 10 Best House Albums of the ’90s

They, along with contemporaries like LFO and Baby Ford, put their own psychedelic spin on the stripped-back Chicago sound of the mid-’80s, leading to the birth of a distinct UK rave movement. State 90 was their first album to be distributed in the U.S. and came with a re-edited version of their breakout single, “Pacific State,” a track you may recognize from its infectious saxophone riff if nothing else. It laid the groundwork for the UK's electronic music explosion, and it inspired everyone from Björk to Aphex Twin and the Chemical Brothers. This memorable track, produced in 1991 by the Basement Boys harmoniously fuses a crispy house beat with Waters' background in Jazz. House was still very much underground when "Gypsy Woman," was released.

In recent years its joyous hooks have been sampled by modern house stalwarts Hercules and Love Affair and pop superstar Rihanna. Originally a riff on a proto-house classic, Isaac Hayes’s 1975 disco foray ‘I Can’t Turn Around’, this collaboration between turbo-lunged singer Darryl Pandy and Farley Keith blew the roof off house music at the time. It still has the distinction of being a true crossover hit that’s maintained its dancefloor appeal decades on.

In the U.S., house music had already climbed the pop charts by the late ’80s, and underground producers were signing major label contracts. There were formidable domestic movements in Belgium, France, Italy, Japan, and South Africa, each with their own sound and style. A number of electronic and electronic-leaning acts changed the course of music in the 90s. Aphex Twin brought a unique perspective that captivated hip audiences previously hesitant to listen to “electronic music.” Plenty of other acts broke through to the mainstream thanks to their pop and rock-leaning styles as well. Moby blended lush, catchy samples with hazy downtempo electronics, and Nine Inch Nails found a middle ground between electronic and acoustic instruments. Stereolab combined French pop with Krautrock to create one of the most unique sounds of the decade, and Portishead used the aesthetics of hip-hop to help introduce trip-hop.

How Tesla Designs Cars to Look so Good

We don’t have pricing for North America yet, either, but in Norway for example, the SR version is the same base price as before, and the LR version is 10,000 NOK (~$941 USD) more expensive. There’s a new dash design with LED lighting, a customizable panel, and changes to the steering wheel so the indicators are now a button rather than on a stalk. Well, even Franz gives in to a little car-designer temptation from time to time. Sedans and SUVs are fine, but sometimes you want to create a road-going rocket that can do 0-60 mph in less than two seconds.

From there he went to Mazda North America, where he ran the entire show and garnered praise for his concept vehicles. Tesla wanted to roll out its “Unboxed” manufacturing process, which would have different parts of the car built by large subassembly groups at the same time, and then brought together and connected at the end. It could start with a lot of meetings or start with a lot of deadlines. Unpredictable, and no two days are the same, which is pretty amazing.

The new Model X starts at $89,990 for a Long Range dual-motor spec that has 360 miles of range, a top speed of 155 mph, and a 0–60 time of 3.8 seconds. Tesla is selling a version with the Plaid powertrain for $119,000 that gets 340 miles of range, has a top speed of 163 mph, and can get to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds. Moribund auto sales had begun a recovery, and other electric-car startups were showing the strains of introducing new technologies; most would fail.

Its unparalleled performance for an all-electric car boasts the quickest acceleration speed and luxurious interiors. This car is sleek, conservatively futuristic, “timelessly modern yet a classic”. The most obvious exterior changes can be found at the front of the Model 3. The bump at the front has been removed in favor of a sleeker design with a single central vent. The headlights also look a lot slimmer with an Audi-like look for the LED daytime running lights. If von Holzhausen had remained on that track, he would have been a car-design aristocrat. Instead, he took a huge leap of faith and joined a buzzy Silicon Valley startup, far from the automotive capitals in Michigan, Japan, and Germany. At General Motors, he designed a pair of exquisite roadsters, the Pontiac Solstice the Saturn Sky.

A great candidate might go beyond the traditional disciplines of UI design and bring a great passion for prototyping, coding, 3D, animation or typography. I also look for someone who doesn’t accept the status quo of UI and wants to push it to a new paradigm or interaction, but doesn’t let their ego get in the way. I was living in San Francisco previously and I don’t want to hate on it because it’s a great city but also a very small city. LA is massive and includes a much bigger focus on art, design and community. It has so much more to offer apart from the assumed superficiality of Hollywood. Tesla’s success was the outcome of Elon Musk’s vision and the trust of the benefactors he had garnered over his approach towards innovation and sustainability.

ways Design Thinking can add value to your career

Instead of a traditional brick and mortar showroom, buying a Tesla car is simplified where one can pick and customise their car online. With Musk’s “Secret Master Plan”, he introduced Tesla’s long term plan of building cars that are affordable and family-oriented. Their goal would be to move towards a sustainable solar electric economy “without making compromises” in the quality or features of the car. A Model S and X redesign has been rumored for years, with Electrek posting allegedly leaked renders of the new interior all the way back in 2018. Musk threw cold water on the idea in 2019, though, when he tweeted “[t]here is no ‘refreshed’ Model X or Model S coming.” Tesla instead was constantly making minor improvements to both vehicles, he said.

Tesla Cybertruck owner gets quoted over $30,000 for Powershare installation

This would still take time with countries like India, as infrastructure would need to be established first to allow for the total experience of the car. Tesla’s Model X is also getting some touchups on the outside and the interior update, and there will be a version with that new powertrain, though the SUV’s refresh is not as extensive. I personally love most of the changes, but am not a fan of the new steering wheel. While I haven’t tried this specific one, the “yoke” wheel on the Model S was not that pleasant to use. I’m sure it would be fine after getting used to it, but turn signal stalks are just so convenient and familiar, and I don’t like the change to buttons. The front end changes have been well documented, but the significant overhaul of the interior is quite a lot more than expected.

But Macy’s, JCPenney, Nordstrom and others are closing hundreds of their stores in malls as online shopping has grown to around 16% of US retail sales. Real estate research firm Green Street estimates about 150 enclosed malls have closed since 2008, leaving about 900 today. Food was long an afterthought at malls, and department stores were the primary reason shoppers visited. Over the last few decades, malls became the town center of many American communities.

No protesters or officers have been reported injured, police said. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Fremont) voted against the legislation. He said he thinks there could have been less restrictive ways to go after the company that wouldn’t result in a total ban or threaten free speech. The U.S. government has not publicly provided evidence that shows TikTok shared U.S. user data with the Chinese government or tinkered with the company’s popular algorithm, which influences what Americans see. "I've kind of cooked my way through New York. I've done French food and wood-fired American food and Sichuan food and all these different foods, but I've always just loved sandwiches," she said.

And this suspension was really the first time that it entered most students’ sphere. I’m taking steps in good faith to make sure that we restore order to this campus, while allowing people to express themselves freely as well. Many quick-service restaurants like McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A have closed mall locations. Strong restaurants and entertainment options draw steady food traffic and can increase the amount of time a consumer spends in the mall, making them valuable to landlords and other mall tenants.

Even though Howlin’ Rays opened a Pasadena location in 2022, the original Chinatown outpost is still kicking. Though it used to be known for perennially long lines and counter dining, it’s now shifted to a more effective pre-order model that’s even better for getting those spicy chicken sandwiches and wings in a timely manner. It used to be the upscale Filipino restaurant Lasa and later the more casual Lasita.

I think there was obviously a lot of intention in timing those two things. I think it’s inherently a critique on a political pressure and this congressional pressure that we saw build up against, of course, Claudine Gay at Harvard and Magill at UPenn. Eliminate the encampment and send a message, this is not going to be tolerated. But in trying to quell the unrest, Shafik actually feeds it.

The encampment is set up in the middle of the night slash morning, prior to the hearing. And so what effectively happens is they caught Shafik when she wasn’t on campus, when a lot of senior administration had their resources dedicated to supporting Shafik in DC. And so in my time of being a reporter, of being an editor, I’ve overseen several protests. And I’ve never seen Columbia penalize a group for, quote, unquote, not authorizing a protest. And so instead of going to celebrate her successful appearance before Congress, Shafik walks out of the hearing room and gets in a black SUV to go right back to that war room, where she’s immediately confronted with a major dilemma.

And this is not representative of the vast majority of the protesters in the encampment, who mostly had been peaceful. They would later hold a Seder, actually, with some of the pro-Palestinian Jewish protesters in their ranks. But those videos are reaching members of Congress, the very same Republicans that Shafik had testified in front of just a few days before. And now they’re looking and saying, you have lost control of your campus, you’ve turned back on your word to us, and you need to resign.

china house restaurant

Prior to Sichuan’s rise, LA’s Chinese food scene was dominated by Cantonese and Taiwanese establishments. The uptick in mainland Chinese immigration these past two decades, along with substantial financial investments from abroad, has led to an explosion of Sichuan restaurants in the Southland. The cuisine’s bold flavors, coupled with its liberal use of garlic, chile peppers, and tingling “mala” numbing spice, has made it a craveable experience that people cannot get enough of. Here now are 16 sensational Sichuan restaurants to try in LA.

And you have all of those people not necessarily out of commission, but with their focus elsewhere. So the encampment is met with very little resistance at the beginning. There were public safety officers floating around and watching. But at the very beginning hours, I think there was a sense of, we did it. Since October 7, there has certainly been constant escalation in terms of tension on campus. And that became a huge moment in what was characterized as suppression of pro-Palestinian activism on campus, effectively rendering those groups, quote, unquote, unauthorized.

After those two student groups were suspended, campus protests continued. They asked that the University divest from businesses that profit from Israel’s military operations in Gaza. But instead of making any progress, the protests are met with further crackdown by the University. Yes, it certainly came as a surprise, especially at “Spectator.” We’re nerds of the University in the sense that we are familiar with faculty and University governance. But even to us, we had no idea where this policy was coming from.

I’m a producer with “The Daily.” Just walked out of the 116 Street Station. It’s the main station for Columbia’s Morningside Heights campus. And it’s day seven of the Gaza solidarity encampment, where a hundred students were arrested last Thursday. Chick-fil-A closed its original location at Greenbriar Mall in Atlanta last year after 56 years. Chick-fil-A restaurants were only located in mall food courts for the company’s first 20 years.

Other popular dishes include the cold eggplant salad, lamb tenderloin skewer, and sweet pork pita. The rest of the expansive menu includes items such as beef brisket noodles, wontons, and rice rolls. The barbecue section offers an abundance of choices, and the Five Flavor duck is among the most popular meats. The duck is stir-fried until the skin becomes golden, then cooked for hours over low heat.

And so Columbia, really, I think, at the end of the day, may have kicked off some of this. But they are now in league with a whole bunch of other universities that are struggling with the same set of questions. And it’s a set of questions that they’ve had since this war broke out. And by that, I mean, this thing that seemed to start at Columbia is literally spreading.

Tableside monitors offer games, cartoons and toy prizes for big eaters. Since 1976, the Yang family still touts a 100-item menu in the heart of Chinatown. Choosing the best dish can be an overwhelming task, but Yang Chow’s staff helps steer diners to the right dishes, including the classic slippery shrimp. Chinatown’s longstanding, no-frills Chinese-Cambodian restaurant has been a staple in the neighborhood for decades.

Also worth mentioning is that Szechuan Place’s dan dan noodles are dry, but tend to be more soupy than those at other restaurants. Anyone looking for more than the run-of-the-mill Sichuan dishes can try the mao xue wang, made of duck blood curd, tripe, chicken gizzard, and other organ parts simmered in peppercorn and red chile soup. In addition to the standard meat selections like beef, chicken, and lamb, the menu encompasses various offal options, beef with raw egg, rose petal meatballs, and even spicy crawfish. And so as Isabella and her colleagues at the college newspaper see it, there’s this overall chilling effect that occurs. Some students become fearful that if they participate in any demonstrations, they’re going to face disciplinary action. So fast forward now to April, when these student protesters learned that President Shafik is headed to Washington for her congressional testimony.

For some, TikTok is a path to riches and the American dream. With a ban, it could all disappear

Although there are some traditional dishes on the menu, like mapo tofu and dry pots, the most popular dishes all involve seafood, including the spicy crab pot, Dungeness crab, and squid with pickled chiles. The fresh Dungeness crab is stir-fried with loads of red chiles and Sichuan peppercorns and tossed with rice cakes, potatoes, and vegetables. Chef Tiantian Qiu is willing to make her dishes even spicier upon request. Szechuan Impression has a menu full of authentic Sichuan dishes, like mapo tofu, dan dan noodles, bo bo chicken, water-boiled fish, and even Hongxing diced rabbit, but the star dish is its tea-smoked pork ribs.

MaLuBianBian Hot Pot

But the pandemic, over-building and a move by consumers toward discount and online shopping changed all that. As anchor department stores left malls, so did some name-brand chains like Ruby Tuesday, Chili’s, Applebee’s and others. The menu for China House may have changed since the last user update. Also known as Chongqing chicken, it’s a famous Sichuan fried chicken stir-fry dish that is covered entirely in chile peppers, spicy bean paste, Sichuan peppercorns, ginger, and garlic. Xiang La Hui’s renditions of popular dishes, like mapo tofu, toothpick lamb, kung fu boiled fish, serrano pepper beef, and frog with chile and serrano, are also highly coveted. With locations in Irvine, Arcadia, Century City, and Universal City Walk, Meizhou Dongpo is a restaurant empire in China. In California, however, the restaurant is mostly known as a higher-end Chinese restaurant that is almost exclusively located in big shopping malls or tourist locations. Because its signature Beijing-style roast duck is so good (Meizhou Dongpo was chosen as the official food sponsor for the 2008 China Olympic Games), people tend to forget that the former mom-and-pop shop is actually a Sichuan restaurant.

Calmes: That scowl. The gag order. Frightened jurors. Who’s on trial, a former president or a mob boss?

And it turned out to be a disaster for these universities. So the House Education Committee has been watching all these protests on campus. And the Republican Chairwoman decides, I’m going to open an investigation, look at how these administrations are handling it, because it doesn’t look good from where I sit. And the House last winter invites the leaders of several of these elite schools, Harvard, Penn, MIT, and Columbia, to come and testify in Washington on Capitol Hill before Congress.

However, due to COVID-19, the expensive and over-the-top atmosphere and live performances are no longer offered. Dumplings, pancit, hot chicken, rum cocktails—the best Chinatown restaurants and bars in LA serve all that and much more. As Chinatown continues to grow, incorporating new and exciting restaurants from around the community, it’s also imperative to celebrate the places that have been here since the start. On this guide, you’ll find iconic bakeries, mom-and-pop shops, and of course, lots of dim sum. After the original Chinatown was demolished in the 1930s to make way for Union Station, a new Chinatown was built, becoming the first neighborhood in the United States to actually be owned by Chinese residents. A call sheet went out, and the best set designers of the day got to work transforming this small patch of land into an Americanized Shanghai.

Mexicali still turns out incredible tortillas, carne asada, vampiros, and more done in the Mexicali style. Daniel Son’s Japanese convenience store-inspired sandwich shop Katsu Sando has been a great Chinatown addition since opening in 2020.

TikTok has denied assertions that it could be used as a tool of the Chinese government and has said it has not shared U.S. user data with Chinese authorities. The bill’s quick path through Congress is extraordinary because it targets one company and because Congress has taken a hands-off approach to tech regulation for decades. Lawmakers had failed to act despite efforts to protect children online, safeguard users’ privacy and make companies more liable for content posted on their platforms, among other measures. But the TikTok ban reflects widespread concerns from lawmakers about China. The House’s overwhelming vote to ban TikTok unless it is freed from Chinese control suggests that a ban might be coming soon.

Head to New Kamara for noodle soups, fried leek cakes, and pork blood porridge. Always try to get there early to snag Chinese doughnuts that are usually sold out by lunchtime. Diners can choose between mild, medium, or extreme spice levels, but even the restaurant’s mild broth is considered too spicy by those unaccustomed to searing heat. Peak Design Travel Backpack 30L Review

peak design 30l backpack

Mind you, all of this structuredness is achieved without compromising carrying comfort. However, 45 liters might be a bit too much for some, and we were definitely curious to see it in a smaller form. It’s the same backpack for the most part; a bit shrunken down, a few revisions here and there, but still classic Peak Design all throughout. You get solid materials, a clever harness system, a spacious interior, diverse pockets for organization—really everything you’d want on a travel backpack.

At lot of people criticize these bags and their pricing, but I just wanted to share my experience with them. I had a V1 30L Everyday Backpack that I really did use every day for about five years. While packing it for a trip one day, the zipper on one side completely broke.

Hardware and Design Features

The bag has issues in padding and the flexfold is awesome for you or you hate it , and its clearly a more commuter style bags in that it sacrifices some style for comfort . So not perfect at all.But if my early PD bag would now fail or get lost , I instantly would buy a new one. Disappointed that the reviewer did not mention a comparison with the V1, which I own. It's a great bag and its only weak point is the weak side zippers that wear out over time.

Size Guide

I'd definitely get the new one when I am in the market for one. I bought those original ones, the the next version. It's fully functional and in good condition after 6+ years (not sure how old is the one exactly), despite laying them on the hiking ground - including on the ice. Subjective or course , but my early model 20l works fine with the clip. Its basically always on there , even when using the bag with no gear inside. Saw other post of yours- I have seen that triple zip.

They may show very slight non-functional cosmetic wear, but work (and often look) as good as new. Cosmetic wear may include scratched hardware and zippers, scuffed fabric, and other surface abrasions indicative of previous use. Last but certainly not least, the main compartment has a set of attachment points. The immediate idea that comes to mind would be to use these for hold-down straps to keep clothes from sloshing around.

It's one of those things where when you're grabbing your bag up off the ground, it's just that much easier to snatch it up since you've got a bigger target. It's a nice touch when you're heading out the door or quickly shifting from location to location. I didn't find the side handles as immediately useful, though I can see the use-case for them. Overall, this is a great carry-on backpack for frequent travelers. I traveled for two weeks with only my Away Bigger Carry-On and the Peak Design 30L backpack, and as a habitual over-packer, I love using this bag as my personal item. Peak Design builds their backpacks with the best materials using quality craftsmanship to ensure each bag’s durability and longevity. Peak Design crafts their backpack from high-quality materials that ensure its durability and weather resistance.

Everyday Case for iPhone 12 Mini

The zippers are also highly resistant, even offering theft-deterrent protection for your valuable items. It’s got a minimalist and sleek appearance, and features a unique opening system that allows easy access to your belongings. Peak Design’s backpacks can be on the higher end of the price range, but are a brilliant investment for frequent travelers.

The laptop compartment sits at the back of the Peak Design Everyday Backpack 30L (V2) and features a pretty slick adjustable laptop sleeve—it’s like a laptop hammock. You can reposition the height of the sleeve to fit different size laptops. Lower it for a 15″ laptop, for example, or adjust it up so a 13″ laptop sits higher in the pocket. That was a lot to go through; no surprises there since it is a feature-packed travel backpack.

As deep as that is, though, it’s not a sealed compartment like what you’d find on the Osprey Arcane Duffel, so there’s always the potential for the shoulder straps to slip out. For the most part, we don’t have too much trouble keeping the straps stuffed inside. This lets us carry the Travel Backpack comfortably via the handles sans any dangling shoulder straps. The Travel Backpack wears as fluently as we expect, that is to say very comfortably. Most of the back panel is made up of a floating island that forms the spine.

The side access pockets run the whole length of the bag so that you can reach just about anything through them. They open from either end thanks to double zippers, which can also be tied off to stop them from unintentionally opening. We design gear to last a lifetime, so we created the PD Marketplace to make it faster and easier for customers to buy and sell used Peak Design products. The Peak Travel 30L Backpack has multiple zippered pockets for added security and organization. These pockets are great for storing small valuables and items you want to keep safe from potential pickpockets. This backpack is coated with a DWR for extra water protection, making it great for travelers or those who need to protect their tech gear.

Unique MagLatch hardware provides lightning fast top access, with dual side access via two weatherproof UltraZips. Speaking of sitting around at the airport, on the upper left side of the back is an ID or luggage tag pocket; the same one is featured on the larger 45-liter Travel Backpack. We weren’t the biggest fans of it since it’s fairly easy to miss, which kind of defeats the purpose of an ID.

I don't mind camera bags that look like them (Lowepro); but I seldom go into very sketchy areas. I still have their original Kickstart backpack and it has served me well, albeit showing its age in a few places. I truly use mine every day as it's my work backpack. It was my photography bag for a while but I find it less comfortable for that job than Shimoda bags (still waiting on my yellow 50 L they just released!). I just picked up the Everyday Zip model from B&H and it’s outstanding! Quality is exceptional and since it’s more of a secondsry gear hauler for me fits my needs perfect.

The nylon on the straps is patched and they probably should be replaced, but the pack itself is “better than new”. I have a (literal) closet full of various “outdoor” bags and spent nearly a decade “studying” them to better outfit customers. It is how I get my GFX gear on the airplane, that and the PD Everyday messenger "briefcase". If you pick the bag up and forget to zip shot one of the sides, disaster can occur as your lenses slide out and hit the ground. The side panels are what makes the pack great, but it is also dangerous.

I also have several of the Peak Designs Camera Straps and they’ve been my go to for 5-6 years now. Every body I have has it’s own and I wouldn’t change for anything. My lightest pack — which packs down to the size of a plum and clips to my belt (in case I stop at a market or pick up a souvenir) — is a Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Travel Day Pack. It’s not going to be comfortable fully loaded with gear, but it does fine with a jacket, spare lens, batteries and a snack. I have this back but I don't think this flexFold dividers aren't that good. I been using lowepro bags and those dvder are much better and also I like the thinktank.

However, the ideal use for these is to secure one of Peak Design’s Camera Cubes inside, further highlighting the company’s camera-focused philosophy. We particularly dig this Black colorway that really doubles down on the sleek looks of the Travel Backpack. It even gets a nice sheen thanks to the DWR coating on the 400D nylon fabric, which, by the way, still has the same durability. There’s also a Sage colorway, which looks more heritage, with small leather tabs replacing the Hypalon ones on the Black model.

Young people who believe trap houses are cool may try to be part of the subculture. Moreover, Trap houses and drug dealers’ knack for sucking kids into the drug networks only makes the matter more urgent. Trap houses aren’t just called that for the illicit activities taking place inside. The term “trap” also refers to the ability of drug dealers to attract customers and keep them coming back for more. Like a spider that lays its web to entrap unsuspecting victims, trap houses lure in users and create a cycle of addiction. While the term “trap house” originated in the drug world, its meaning has evolved over time.
